Meet Dr. Henry W. Ferguson

Henry W. “Butch” Ferguson, DMD, is a recently retired Board-Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Board of Anesthesia. A distinguished clinician, educator, and leader, Dr. Ferguson brings more than four decades of surgical, academic, and instructional experience to his current role as Founder and CEO of OMS Concepts and Dental CE LLC.

Dr. Ferguson served 25 years in the United States Army Dental Corps, including 7 years as a General Dental Officer and 18 years as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He mentored and directed oral surgery residency training, providing full-scope surgical and anesthesia care in hospital and clinical settings.

Following his military career, he spent 19 years as Senior Faculty, Attending Surgeon, and Clinical Associate Professor at the Medical College of Georgia Medical Center at Augusta University and the Augusta University Dental College of Georgia, mentoring generations of dental professionals, medical and dental residents, and other health care providers. Upon retirement, he accepted a part-time appointment as Clinical Professor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry, continuing his lifelong commitment to surgical education and CE.
